BrazilNow – Vol. I is a collective exhibition that combines the vibrant voices of some of Brazil’s most innovative ultra-contemporary artists, showcased in three private Italian collections. In a country known for its rich cultural heritage and dynamic creativity, this exhibition presents a powerful dialogue between diverse artistic visions, each reflecting the complexities of contemporary Brazil through an innovative and bold approach to art. The three collections boldly reject the stereotypes imposed by art market trends, focusing on exploring talent beyond gender, social background, and race. This exhibition offers an exploration of themes such as identity, politics, language, memory, spirituality, and the human condition.

From the vibrant portraits of Guilherme Almeida, Kika Carvalho, Mulambo, Rafael Baron, and Ramonn Vieitez, each offering a unique lens on contemporary Brazil, to the powerful commentary on Black spirituality in the works of Gustavo Nazareno and André Vargas, which explore themes related to colonial history, from Maxwell Alexandre’s provocations about a society still deeply divided socially, to Elle De Bernardini’s exploration of gender and body politics, and Yuli Yamagata’s bold sculptural forms; from the explosion of color, symbolism, and irony in the works of Heberth Sobral and Tainan Cabral, infused with memories and popular culture, to Antonio Bokel’s geometric compositions and Iris Helena’s research on urban landscapes; from the introspective works of Clarice Rosadas and Thainan Castro, to Marcelo Monteiro’s sculptures depicting the strength of the working class, and Pedro Victor Brandão’s research on capitalism and cybernetics, the works in this exhibition challenge and expand the boundaries of contemporary art. Each artist brings a unique perspective, yet together, they express the pulse of Brazil’s ever-evolving cultural landscape. Their works reveal the intersection between personal narrative and collective memory and the tensions and hopes of a society in constant transformation. The exhibition also highlights the experimental use of media, where materials such as textiles, ceramics, wood, painting, and multimedia installations come together to create new forms of expression that speak to both local and global audiences.

BrazilNow – Vol. I invites you to engage with the urgency, depth, and beauty of Brazil’s current artistic landscape. Through this collective lens, we hope to offer a fresh and stimulating insight into the forces shaping the future of art, both within and beyond Brazil’s borders.
