She trained in classical ballet at the Royal Academy of Dance in London. She also has a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy.
She is a transsexual woman whose work is permeated by her biography.
Her works address the intersection between issues of gender, sexuality, biopolitics, and the technology of bodies, as well as the history of humanity, art, and language.
Her work has been exhibited in institutions such as MASP and Pinacoteca of the State of São Paulo. She took part in the 12th Mercosur Biennial, curated by Andrea Giunta. In 2022, she was selected for the Cité Internationale des Arts residency program to make a documentary about Latin American art in the city of Paris.
The Brazilian curator and contemporary art scholar wrote about her: “Élle’s vision not only translates but also promotes the recognition and respect for the multiplicity of gender experiences, fostering an inclusive, thoughtful, and critical education.
Through the artist’s insightful gaze, we are invited to challenge preconceived notions and embrace human complexity”.
Her works are part of collections such as the Rio Art Museum (MAR), the National Museum of the Republic in Brasilia, Pinacoteca of the State of São Paulo, the French Government Collection, and the National Library of France in Paris. And others.
