Andrea Romano

Andrea Romano graduated in Visual Arts from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan in 2010.
He has had solo exhibitions at major venues including Vistamare (Pescara, 2017), Gaudel de Stampa (Paris, 2015), Fluxia (Milan, 2013), and Gasconade (Milan, 2011).
Notable group exhibitions include the 16th Quadriennale di Roma (2016); Ennesima – An Exhibition of Seven Exhibitions on Italian Art (Triennale di Milano, 2015); Les associations libres (Maison Rouge, Paris, 2012); Sous les pavés, la plage (Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Turin, 2012); and Pole Position (1m3, Lausanne, 2012).
His practice spans drawing and sculpture, often blending the two, and is marked by a continuous investigation into images and the social role of art.
As the artist himself states: “My work consists in combining and layering various media and languages in order to prevent any fixed definition of art, and to reposition its boundaries within broader social dynamics.
I examine the limits between private experience and collective perception, confronting personal references with what we call art, its traditions, its potential role, and the values commonly attributed to it.”
