The Project

The Ultracontemporary Art Project aps (U-ART-P aps) association is a cultural dialogue project that connects the world of contemporary collecting with a diverse range of interested parties.

By opening private collections to the public, U-ART-P aps strives to deepen knowledge of young emerging artists’ work and foster dialogue, confrontation, and understanding of contemporary art phenomena. It invites reflection on the evolving relationship between art, society, and places and how the sensibility of these young actors identifies and focuses on trends and the diverse facets of art in its time.

There is often discussion about the accessibility of private collections to the public and how to manage this decision. Today, these considerations must take into account not only the meaning of collecting itself but also how collectors, their collections, and collecting itself are evolving in line with new forms of social interaction.

In a world where the art market is evolving rapidly, U-ART-P aps recognizes the crucial role of a common language. This language is not just a tool for communication but a bridge that actively facilitates dialogue between cultural intermediaries and the public. It’s a language that invites everyone to the table, creating opportunities for meeting and discussion in spaces dedicated to contemporary art.

The base of the activity is a Project Room of The Place space in Via Don Luigi Palazzolo in Bergamo, formerly home to the Falconi Leidi Collection; it is here that exhibitions, meetings, or debates on ultracontemporary art take place starting from the works of artists in their respective collections.
