Turn Around. [Revolution], Pamela Diamante’s retrospective exhibition offers an in-depth look at the work of an artist who, through an analytical approach and a wide range of cultural and scientific influences, creates artworks that transcend mere aesthetics, promoting deep reflections on human nature, the environment, and society.

“I study philosophy, sociology, media studies, and semiotics, which I use as keys to understand and interpret reality and images of the world—the artist explains—in an entirely natural way. My fascination with science, physics, and geophysics generates a dialogical relationship. Certainly, my imagery is generated by encountering all these factors.”

This is clearly manifested in all her works.
In ‘Generating Celestial Bodies – Exercises in Style,’ Diamante’s dystopian vision of the future of advertising and critique of capitalism sparks contemplation on our impact on the universe and anthropocentrism. ‘Phenomenology of the Sublime’ presents collages that blend Paesina Stone and pigmented print, inviting reflection on the self-representational capabilities of nature, where human traces are intentionally excluded, fostering a harmonious relationship between nature and the natural world.
“Aesthetics of the Apocalypse” leads us into a territory of reflection on beauty and destruction, while the video installation “2015” prompts us to reflect on the acceleration of time in contemporary society,
Finally, the video “5′ to Induce an Absence” offers an intimate and intense view of Diamante’s research, which explores the concept of the body as an inhospitable place and the need for fragmentation of reality.

This exhibition is a tribute to an exceptional artist who, with a masterful blend of aesthetics and critical thinking, offers a rare glimpse into our past, present, and future. Her works inspire us to reflect on our actions and the profound impact they have on the world around us.

“I think the work should convey an explicit message up to a certain point,” says Pamela Diamante. After that, it must create an openness such that the viewer has room to apply his or her own imaginative and interpretative power. Art must lead to reflections; for me, the work is accomplished only when this mechanism is established.”
