ELEONORA MARIANI

Carate Brinaza (MI) — 1994
Lives and works in Milan.

In 2021 she obtained a Second-Level Diploma in Painting from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, Milan.
Her artistic research begins with the observation and depiction of objects placed on a surface, following the method used by still-life painters. Through the painting process, she analyzes the subjects’ forms and the relationships among them, while the classic tools of painting—composition, perspective, and color—are employed to create a primarily visual short circuit that opens the way to new meanings.
A special role is assigned to light, understood not only as a physical datum but above all as an object of reflection. Pears, strawberries, bananas, and blueberries, entrusted to a light that is no longer rational but symbolic, inhabit the space of the imagination and, within the painting, take part in what could be a new life.
Her pictorial practice thus presents itself as a continuous perceptual and sensory inquiry that stops conceiving the human–nature relationship as a one-way relation of control, and instead highlights a form of interaction that is almost symbiotic.
